A holiday home on the river in Japan
This is the project for a weekend home along the river. The site on which the house stands is tilted towards the river, and the wind runs along the slope. The house is drawn parallel to the river and the form that comes out of the slope is that of a ship waiting to leave. The two volumes of the house are divided. One is the private space of the house with master bedroom and children’s rooms, the other is public space with kitchen and living room. The external bridge between the two volumes is used as an outdoor dining area. On top of which is parallel to the river, there are the bathroom and the closet. This house is designed as a holiday home to spend time with family and friends. A large dining table with the concrete base is located in the great hall, which leads to the area of the bridge to the river. The precast concrete panel is used for the external wall is the wall of the north side and east side. Railway station, designed by Hassell Studio
Hassell, in collaboration with Parsons Brinckerhoff, has undertaken a very interesting project to create a new railway station at Wendouree and related infrastructure, in the west of Ballarat (Australia). The new station, which opened in June 2009, expects to serve more than 27,000 people living in areas of Wendouree, Alfredton and Lake and neighboring countries to Learmouth. The project idea is to minimize the distance between the various destinations that are particularly remote and therefore offer an attractive and comfortable through the rail. The materials used to create this modern train station were selected for resistance to long term to reduce maintenance costs.
